What type of work will I be doing?

• Preparation of statutory accounts for a variety of businesses in a wide range of industry sectors. These businesses will be a mixture of companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
• Managing your own portfolio of clients with whom you will be able to build close working relationships and help them with running their business, including preparing management accounts and VAT returns, and supporting them in their use of cloud accounting software.
• Bookkeeping and VAT return preparation.
• Exposure to income tax and corporation tax computations.
• Access to ad hoc assignments, such as cash flow projections and business plans to support clients in their applications to access finance.
• Mentoring less experienced members of the team (if applicable).

What qualifications do I need?

We are open to all experience levels, but we are looking for somebody who:

• Preferably is qualified to AAT level 4.
• Has experience working with clients and colleagues in an accountancy practice environment.
• Is conscientious and a great team player.
• Has experience with accounting software, including cloud based accounting platforms and add-ons, including Xero and QuickBooks, and is proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Has good general accounting knowledge, particularly the requirements of FR102A, employment taxes, and VAT. Knowledge of CIS would be advantageous due to the nature of our client base, but not required
